It all started when...

The German Heritage Language School started in September 1987 under the direction of Mrs. Gerta Josenhans. After a few years of successfully teaching German language skills to children of various ages, the school expanded its program from two groups into five different age groups and levels of teaching.

Today...

The school offers classes for adults and children for various levels. Lessons take place once a week for two hours on Thursday afternoons and evenings. German language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) are taught by qualified teachers. Children start as young as age four and are encouraged to speak German through play and music. German folksongs, poems and drama are equally enjoyed by children and teachers. Samples of the students' language skills are usually presented at the closing ceremonies.
In the children 4 class, students pass an examination for the German Language Diploma (DSD = Deutsches Sprachdiplom A2)
Several social events during the year bring our families together.
